Greg Board
Greg was an operational Firefighter and Station Manager for 19 years. He has had many roles with the Fire & Rescue Service, including at an operationally-based, busy, dual pump station in the North of the county. He then moved on to become an Instructor at the Training Centre, specialising in new skills development. He then worked in, and established, departments looking at productivity and organisational learning before specialising in protective clothing and standards.Greg is passionate about encouraging males to speak openly about their experiences and bringing hormonal health to the forefront of the conversation. He has lived experience of how this directly affects the male population. Through this and his teaching style, he promotes a safe space where people can interact and share their experience, as well as providing the tools to move forward with their lives.
In the past, Greg was diagnosed with depression for a few years, before making the link between physical health, mental health and Hormonal health. In youth, we take these things for granted and in later years it is "fobbed off" as a "mid-life" crisis. He is battling to change these attitudes.
Greg has many qualifications, including in Trauma Care, Mental Health First Aid, EDI, Evaluating Learning Programmes, Advanced Leadership, Coaching, Interview Panel Assessments and Appraisal, as well as Armed Forces Champion Training. Professionally, he is qualified in many skills,, including Mass decontamination instructor, Fire Investigation, Breathing Apparatus instructor, Structured debriefing (college of policing trained), Marine firefighting, Workplace assessment, Immediate emergency care and Advanced Incidence Command.
